About Calm Waters Counseling
Compassionate, professional counseling rooted in attachment science, evidence-based methods, and biblical wisdom.
"He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul." ~ Psalm 23:2-3
Whatever Brought You Here, You're Welcome
When life is too much, whether gradually depleting your reserves, or suddenly ripping the ground from under your feet, you need support and a safe place to find your equilibrium again.
Whether you are dealing with grief over a sudden loss or heartbreak over betrayal trauma, you need someone to sit with you in the pain and help you to make sense of the world again.
Perhaps you are feeling stuck in your marriage, or in another relationship where you are giving away more than you have left to give. You need someone who has walked with others in these treacherous paths to walk alongside you, to help you to see through a new lens - one that can take in the needs of your partner, while remembering that you matter too.
You might be struggling to connect with your kids, worried about them and longing to give them what they need, as toddlers, teens or young adults. You need encouragement, they need a safe place to figure themselves out; and you might need a third party to help you to understand each other again.
We would love to meet you in any of these hard places, to offer compassion, understanding, experience, and effective therapeutic interventions. You don't have to do this alone. We believe that God has called us to be His hands and feet to you, offering His comfort to heal your heart, and His presence to lead you in the good plans He designed for you long ago.
Our Approach
We know what it is like to experience these trials and become disillusioned, questioning the very foundations of our faith. When we struggle most, we can doubt God like never before. And that is especially hard when He has been a primary source of strength and comfort in your life. It forces you to examine your spiritual questions and look for answers you can rely on.
He can handle your questions, in fact, He welcomes them. His word promises that if you seek Him with all your heart, He will be found by you (Jeremiah 29: 13-14).
Through our own lived experiences, we have come to believe that, "He is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." - Psalm 34:18
We offer in-person or online therapy sessions throughout Florida and North Carolina.
Whether you are in Orlando, Winter Park, Maitland, Oviedo, College Park, Apopka, Windermere, or Dr. Phillips, you can find support with professional therapeutic skills combined with a Biblical perspective.

Meet Sarilda Mayberry
Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern
Sarilda is a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern and is here to help you make sense of your experiences and move forward with clarity. Sometimes experiences can feel overwhelming, isolating, or hard to handle alone. Her mission is for everyone - kids, teens, and adults - to feel safe to share, understand their feelings, and gain strength, peace, and hope.
She works with people of all ages, from 6 to 86, and especially loves supporting children and adolescents. Whether a child is dealing with anxiety, feeling pressure to be perfect, going through changes like divorce, or coping with the loss of a parent, she creates a space where they can be themselves—no pressure, no judgment.
Sarilda also works closely with parents to help support their child's growth and make counseling a positive experience. At the same time, she respects each individual's privacy and always protects their confidentiality so they feel safe opening up.
Sarilda’s goal is to help every client feel understood, supported, and a little more confident in who they are. You don't have to figure everything out on your own! We can work through it together, one step at a time.
Our Core Beliefs
Our beliefs originate from teachings in the Bible, are validated by the science of attachment, and are supported by both clinical training and lived experience.
Value 1
We believe that emotions are our friends. They need not be feared or controlled, but rather experienced and embraced for the clarity they bring. Emotions give us information to help us recognize our needs, interpret the world around us, and navigate our path forward.
Value 2
We believe that people were made for relationships. When in isolation, we miss out on the primary source of comfort from the slings and arrows of life. With secure connections, we have the ability to thrive and flourish, meeting our full potential.
Value 3
We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God. It is useful for teaching, and equipping us for works planned for us long ago. It offers us a path of grace and provides wisdom for living a life of abundance.
